Birdville Education Foundation's board of directors recently announced the appointment of Tito Rodriguez as Executive Director effective April 1, 2014. The search committee noted Rodriguez' long-standing commitment to BISD and the North Texas community as a key component to his selection. He currently serves as a city councilman for North Richland Hills, as well as Mayor Pro Tem for the city. Rodriguez has worked for the State of Texas as a special investigator serving families in a 25 county region for more than 29 years. Birdville Education Foundation
Birdville Education Foundation's board of directors recently approved funding for 2013-14 educator grants in the amount of $106,262.25. Funding sources come from Foundation events, individual and corporate donations, as well as generous donations from educators, trustees and administrative staff within BISD. A total of 36 applications were approved, with 19 BISD campuses receiving at least one grant. Board members will visit campuses in April and May to award the grants. The Birdville Education Foundation would like to thank all applicants for continuing to reach towards innovation and growth in the classroom for our students. Applications for 2014-15 will be accepted next fall. Our mission is to support innovative learning and educational excellence.
