Birdville Education Foundation's board of directors recently announced the appointment of Tito Rodriguez as Executive Director effective April 1, 2014. The search committee noted Rodriguez' long-standing commitment to BISD and the North Texas community as a key component to his selection. He currently serves as a city councilman for North Richland Hills, as well as Mayor Pro Tem for the city. Rodriguez has worked for the State of Texas as a special investigator serving families in a 25 county region for more than 29 years. The Foundation welcomes his leadership and deep knowledge of our community.

Birdville Education Foundation's board of directors recently approved funding for 2013-14 educator grants in the amount of $106,262.25.  Funding sources come from Foundation events, individual and corporate donations, as well as generous donations from educators, trustees and administrative staff within BISD. A total of 36 applications were approved, with 19 BISD campuses receiving at least one grant. Board members will visit campuses in April and May to award the grants.
