The Board of Trustees met in regular session on Thursday, January 23. The following link will provide you a summary of actions taken at their meeting.

Trustees Approve Haltom High School Head Football Coach

At their regular January meeting, the Birdville ISD Board of Trustees approved the appointment of Jason Tucker to the position of head football coach/athletic coordinator for Haltom High School.
 
Currently, he is the defensive coordinator and an algebra teacher at Chisholm Trail High School in Eagle Mountain-Saginaw ISD. He brings with him 16 years of coaching experience including: head football coach/athletic coordinator with Burleson High School; defensive backs and offensive line coach at Carroll Senior High School; freshman football coach at Haltom High School; and seventh- and eighth-grade coach at Haltom Middle School.
 
Tucker received his bachelor's degree from Midwestern State University in 1998.

Unused Leave for Retirees

February 1 is the deadline to request compensation for unused leave if you are planning to retire at the end of the 2013 - 2014 school year.

To qualify for this benefit, an employee must:

 

  • Submit notice of retirement to Human Resources no later than February 1 of the school year they plan to retire;
  • Be eligible for retirement under Teacher Retirement System of Texas; and
  • Have been employed by the Birdville School District, with no break in service, for a minimum of five (5) years.
