Trustees approve two administrative appointments and one administrative transfer
At their regular board meeting on May 23, Birdville ISD's Board of Trustees approved two principal appointments and one administrative transfer. Deborah Coulson, who is currently serving as David E. Smith Elementary principal, is returning to North Ridge Elementary to serve as principal. She is replacing Allison Cobb.
Coulson has been principal at Smith Elementary since 2011. She was assistant principal at North Ridge Elementary from 2005-11. Prior to North Ridge, she served as assistant principal at the Academy at C.F. Thomas from 2001-2005, and a general education teacher from 1992-2001. She earned her bachelor's degree from Abilene Christian University and master's degree from Texas Woman's University. Jessica Sandoval was named principal at Smith Elementary. She is replacing Deborah Coulson. Sandoval has been assistant principal at Smith Elementary since 2011, and assistant principal at Foster Village Elementary since 2009. Prior to Smith and Foster Village elementary schools, she served as Campus Title I Interventionist at Foster Village from 2008-09, third- and fifth-grade teacher at Foster Village from 2004-08, and fourth- and fifth-grade teacher at the Academy at West Birdville from 2000-04. She earned her bachelor's degree from Texas A&M University and master's degree from Lamar University. Shea L. Schaefer was named principal at Walker Creek Elementary. She is replacing Scott Gregory.
Schaefer has been principal at Smith Elementary in Duncanville ISD since 2009, assistant principal for Crowley ISD and Duncanville ISD from 2006-09, and gifted and talented education teacher for Mansfield ISD from 1999-2006. She earned her bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of Texas at Arlington. Shea is an 1982 graduate of Richland High School. |
