Preliminary numbers are in for the 2013 STAAR tests and BISD fifth- and eighth-grade students scored above the state average in reading and math. (Other results are not available at this time.)

Grade 5 Reading - 80 percent 
Grade 5 Math - 79 percent 
Grade 8 Reading - 86 percent 
Grade 8 Math - 84 percent
