2013 Bond Upgrades and Renovations

In addition to safety and security, science labs and technology, the bond proposal has
extensive renovations across the district. Every campus not being rebuilt in the bond
proposal will receive renovations.

These include, but are not limited to:
* New permanent classroom additions to:
o Spicer Elementary School
o Watauga Elementary School
o Academy at C.F. Thomas Elementary
* Replace discontinued T12 florescent lighting with new energy-efficient T8 florescent lighting*
* Replace ceiling tiles
* Replace/repair floors
* Add/upgrade Birdville High School athletics spaces
* Add/upgrade Birdville High School fine arts spaces
* Repair/replace concrete and asphalt
* Resurface/replace tracks
* Replace chalkboards with white boards
* Replace/upgrade aging HVAC, plumbing and electrical
* Replace fire alarm systems
* Replace/repair roofs
* Add/upgrade energy management systems
* Waterproof visitor bleachers at FAAC
* Electrical savings will pay for this upgrade in 3-4 years. The federal government is phasing out T12 bulb production, thus making most lighting fixtures in the district obsolete.

A complete list of renovations by campus is available online at birdvilleschools.net/2013bond.

The Communications Department publishes the employee newsletter "e-nlightened" each week so staff can keep in touch with what is going on across the district. E-mail your pictures and a brief description to Communications and we will include them as space permits.
