Director of Human Resources Announced 
At the regular board meeting on January 24, Birdville ISD Superintendent Dr. Darrell G. Brown announced the administrative appointment of Paige Curry as director of Human Resources. She succeeds Dr. Richard Valenta, who left the district in December to accept a position with Denton ISD as associate superintendent for Human Resources.
Curry is presently a coordinator in the Human Resources department, where she has been since 2005. Prior to the Human Resources department, she was an assistant principal at Hardeman Elementary from 2003-05, and lead counselor from 2001-03 and counselor from 1998-2001 at Richland High School. She has also served as a counselor for Rutherford County School in Murfreesboro, Tenn., and taught school for Bossier City Schools in Benton, La., and Charles County Schools in LaPlata, Md.
She earned her bachelor's degree from Oklahoma State University, her master's degree from Louisiana Tech University, and her principal certification from Region 11 Education Service Center.
