Making a Difference, A Krispy Kreme Heist
One of the benefits of moving to another country are the new relationships that are formed. We meet people through work, organizations, sports, neighborhoods and other means. About eight years ago, I met Chris Rosati, at the time a co-worker, now poker buddy, friend and inspiration.
One evening three years ago, I arrived early at one of our regular poker nights. He shared with me that he had been diagnosed with ALS (aka Lou Gehrig's disease). I'm not sure there are words to describe the tragic news from a good friend, who has a wonderful wife and two young kids.Today, he can still walk with assistance, but the degenerative neuromuscular disorder, which is ultimately fatal, has slowed him down. Less than 50% of ALS patients live beyond 3 years.
