Canadian Consulate of Atlanta Celebrates 40th Anniversary

How time flies! In 1972 the Government of Canada announced a new  Consulate General in Atlanta to represent Canadian interests in the South-eastern U.S.

Despite the worst ice storm in recorded Georgia history, the Consulate General of Canada officially opens its doors in Atlanta on January 11, 1973, in the presence of over 160 guests including the Canadian Ambassador to the United States, Marcel Cadieux. The location is the Coastal States Building in downtown Atlanta.
