The Canadian Expat Network is pleased to announce that the community is a founding partner of the Canada150 project. Canada 150 is a national, not-for-profit campaign to celebrate Canada's 150th birthday in 2017 by encouraging the recording and collecting of life stories, family histories as well as community and organization histories.

Production of the Canadian penny ceased in May of 2012 and the Royal Canadian Mint ceased the distribution of them Feb 4th, 2013.
