Cookie Season is (almost) here!
Cookie Program is January 17 - March 16
Beginning January 17, Girl Scouts from across southeast Louisiana will start selling those delicious Girl Scout cookies, as they run the largest girl-led business in the world.

Through the Cookie Program, girls are able to earn money towards fun and exciting girl-planned program activities, as well as contribute to the council's ability to provide Girl Scouting in the community.  It's through learning by earning that girls develop five valuable life skills such as goal setting, decision-making, money management, people skills, and business ethics.

We encourage you to attend the Cookie rally in your area, for fun games, safety tips, and cookie tasting!

We've added additional Sage Mobile Wiper Trainings on Jan. 21 and 23. This learning session teaches you how to convert your smart phone or tablet into a highly secure and convenient credit card terminal. This is not for Daisy troops, and participants must bring a voided troop check to the training.

Girl Scout Truths flier
Cookie Season is also the time many anti-Girl Scout internet sites and bloggers begin attacking Girl Scouts, attempting to perpetuate the lie about Girl Scouts being allies of Planned Parenthood, etc.

To be proactive and assist you during the Cookie Sale, we have created a Girl Scouts Truths flier which addresses and shares the truth concerning the five most common misconceptions about Girl Scouts. This flier is available on our website, linked off of  http://www.gsle.org/about-us/who-we-are/stand/ and the direct link to the flier is here, or by clicking the flier image above. If you have any additional questions or concerns, please feel free to contact Marianne Addy, VP of Communications & Marketing, at 504-355-5864 or maddy@gsle.org
