Each year Girl Scouts Louisiana East recognizes its outstanding adult volunteers. The process starts with public nominations and letters of endorsement and/or videos of endorsement (possibly girl generated!) that are reviewed by a volunteer committee to assure candidate has met the criteria for the award, and then forwarded to our Board of Directors for approval. Nominations are due to the council by March 1, 2013 for awards to be presented on April 13 at the Annual Meeting and Adult Recognition event, location to be announced. Please review the updated nominations forms by clicking here.

Cookies for a Change
With this year's cookie theme being "What can a girl do? ..... a world of good," we are encouraging troops to complete a "Take Action" project using their cookie proceeds. After choosing which "Take Action" project you would like to complete, the troop should design a video about the "Take Action" project to be placed on the council's YouTube page. The "Take Action" project can be a troop project or you can get your school, place of worship, other organizations, and community involved. Prizes will be awarded to the top three videos.

Donate today to the Annual Family Giving Campaign

thank you  The deadline to earn a free Service Unit encampment at Camp Covington, Camp Marydale, or Camp Whispering Pines is December 20. Thank you to all who have supported the campaign this year.

It costs about $215/year per girl to deliver Girl Scouts to girls in volunteer-led troops in southeast Louisiana. These dollars help our council support Girl Scout experiences, including maintaining camp properties, training new and experienced volunteers, developing online tools and new programs, and operating retail shops. We raise about $165 of this cost through program fees, camp fees, property rentals, and product sales. The remaining $50 per girl requires fund raising - and that is why the Annual Family Giving Campaign is so important!! Please consider donating today
