President's Letter

Dear members and friends:

The month of September ended with an exciting first time ever all-members meeting in the Innovation & Design Building located at the Boston Design Center in South Boston.

A special thank you to General Manager of James Town, LP, Kristan McLaughlin and Mary Lewey, Associate Manager of Events for the Innovation & Design Building. Members enjoyed the opportunity to see the transformation of the new Boston Design Center while enjoying a delicious networking lunch and reception before touring the amazing showrooms and brand new Market Stalls. Now there are even more reasons for our visitors and guests to come see this extraordinary building and view their outstanding galleries. We are also so excited that guests may now stroll the space on their own, but will still need to enlist the help of a designer when ready to purchase items, making the Boston Design Center more accessible to visitors worldwide. They also have many exiting events happening in the next few weeks, so don't miss out, read more about the Innovation & Design Building in our meeting notes section of this newsletter. www.bostondesigncenter.com

A special thank you to our good friend Rosanne Pickard Mercer, President of Mercer Public Relations. Rosanne has done it again by hosting an incredible concierge dinner and reception at BONAPITA located at 49 Franklin Street, Boston. Concierge members had the chance to meet chef and owner Ilan Barniv and sample a delightful buffet of the delicious Mediterranean cuisine BONAPITA is known for. Be sure to send your thank you e-mail to mercerpr@aol.com. www.bonapita.com/Ilan@bonapita.com

Thank you again to Ann Sheehan and the folks at Broadway in Boston who invited our concierge members to see "Cinderella" at the Boston Opera House. This truly magnificent performance amazed audiences of all ages throughout its Boston engagement. The music, costumes (costume changes!) and set designs were all breathtaking! Please be sure to use the concierge code given all concierge members when ordering tickets to any Broadway in Boston performance. Should you need assistance, reach out to Sara at Sara.Pardo@BroadwayInBoston.com for a refresher on how to use this great service.

These opportunities offered to all concierges are priceless!   Be sure to send your emails and thank you notes for all the great music, theater and circus events to our good friend Joe Donlavey, jdonlavey@citicenter.org and be sure that you only RSVP for an event if you are sure you will attend. We want to be courteous to our hosts and many times tickets are left unused or unclaimed. This hurts all of us all and jeopardizes this very generous opportunity.  Thank you all for your support in this matter.

Thank you to International Concierge Association's Andrew Ritzier and the folks at Fleming's Steak House for hosting an amazing reception for concierge members.    On Wednesday, October 7, Fleming's showcased their newly renovated bar, dining room and event space with an incredible array of Fleming's cuisine, as well as an invite to come back again!  Well done Leslie Gilmore, Robert Ryan and Chef Nick Lagana ...a fabulous night was had by all. www.flemings.com

Congratulations to Catherine Peterson, Executive Director of Arts Boston who recently celebrated its 40 years of service.  They are the driving force in bringing entertainment and cultural events to the community. Their partner programs include Bostix, Artsboston.org, the Arts Boston Initiative and the Arts Factor. These amazing programs enable everyone from all walks of life the opportunity to enjoy theater, music and entertainment. Their hard work and dedication is immeasurable as they continue to remain committed to their mission of enriching the lives of our community by bringing arts and cultural events to all. The work of Arts Boston to the community is legendary.  I know that the "Arts Insider" is one of the most essential tools I have to do my job.

Thank you again to all of the Arts Boston team for what you do every day for all of our visitors and guests, A special shout out to Affiliate member Jennifer Falk; Director of Marketing & Communications for Arts Boston for her commitment to our members. My relationship with Arts Boston makes my job a little bit easier each day! www.artsboston.org
