President's Letter

Dear members and friends:

Well September really turned out to be an exciting month for our GBCA members. The theater season got off to a great start and many of our concierges were able to take advantage of the amazing offer from Ann Sheehan and our friends at Broadway in Boston to see The Book of Mormon at the Colonial Theater. This show brings lots of fun and laughter and has been a huge hit here in Boston. Thank you to all of our members for supporting all of the spectacular shows and entertainment options we have in Boston. It's wonderful to see so many fabulous cultural offerings planned for this season to share with all of our visitors and guests. Boston is a very special city with so many cultural institutions, guests need not go anywhere else to be entertained!   And I love how all the folks in the arts are so supportive each other.

Our September 9th all member meeting was all about theater, music, art, dance and education. Thank you to Joe Donlavey for making the event happen. Joe enlisted all of his friends in the arts community to come and address our members. Read all about the many informative guest speakers in the meeting minutes attached. Thank you to Joe Spaulding, Michael Szczepkowski  and Joe Donlavey and all  the Citi Performance Arts Center team for making the event such a huge success, one that all of our members will remember for a very long time.

A big Congratulations to Gina Guange for hosting a very successful event - A Taste of Chelsea with it's main mission being to help stop domestic violence. Gina enlisted her business associates and friends to hold an incredible trade show of local restaurants in the north shore area. The event engaged more than 30 restaurants with over 500 tickets sold. The event raised over $40,00.00 last year. And I am sure it will raise even more this year with the strong support of Gina. Congratulations again for recognizing a worthwhile cause.

We have lots of promotions and discounts going on for our members, everything from circus discounts to Screemfest, Topsfield Fair tickets and more. Be sure to take advantage of these great offers! Flyers for all these are here in our newsletter. Don't miss out, get your tickets now.

Thank you again to Mark Miller and Guy Neil who have graciously accepted to chair the 2016 election of GBCA officers. Our timeline, job descriptions and charters are all here in our newsletter. Be sure to attend an information session to be held on October 15, more details will follow. Until then I look forward to seeing everyone at our next GBCA all member meeting at Frost on October 19th. Invitations for this meeting will be sent by e-mail next week.

Thank you again for all of your support, it is because of you our members that this association is so strong. I look forward to seeing you all during the coming month and I am truly excited to share our plans for 2016 with you.

With pride in service;

Betty Salemme

Afternoon Board Members and ETCS,

Coming up in just a week is our 2015 Fall Walking Series. We've partnered with a variety of experts around Boston to plan a series of free lunch time walks for our members and participants. They start September 30th, and continue every Wednesday through the end of October. Every walk is from 12-1pm, so they're perfect for a lunch break. Below are a flyer and a Captivate slide so that you can advertise how you see fit. If you would like any other materials, please let me know! We're asking that people email me at my email address to register.
