GBCA Family Fund Day 2014

A special thank you to Bob Schwartz and his incredible team of volunteers who helped to make this year's GBCA Family Fun Day a huge success.

The day began with over 60 members of the GBCA and their families enjoyed a scrumptious buffet breakfast at the Hard Rock Café hosted by Jordan Rosenblatt jordan_rosenblatt@hardrock.com. The food was amazing and the staff impeccable. Members enjoyed looking at the famous memorabilia and listening to great music as they mixed and mingled with other members and their families.

Following breakfast our members and guests were ushered aboard two of Boston's famous Duck Tour Boats. Guests enjoyed an exciting tour of Boston before cruising along the Charles River. Guests were even given the opportunity to take the wheel as we cruised along the Charles quacking at everyone we met.  I think we now have a few future Boston Duck Tour drivers in our membership. Thank you, Bob.

After our fun filled Duck Tour, we were dropped off at the New England Aquarium where we met by our host Della Grallert; dgrallert@neaq.org Della, welcomed our members and their families and escorted us all into the Aquarium for a fun filled tour on our own, the opportunity to enjoy the touch tank and the famous seal show.

Next stop was lunch at Faneuil Market Place. Lunch was generously provide by our good friends, Ed Hurly; ed.hurley@faneuilhallmarketplace.com and Jessica Feroli; Jessica.Feroli@faneuilhallmarketplace.com. Everyone enjoyed strolling the food court and choosing just the right dish from their favorite place to eat. No one left hungry while enjoying pizza, seafood, deserts and more.

Our next stop was the amazing Frost Ice Bars where General Manager Grier Collela Grier@FrosticeBar.com and hosts Catherine  Preusse; Catherine@frosticebar.com and Robert Planer; Robert@frostbar.com treated everyone to a tour of their amazing venue while enjoying refreshing cocktails and taking fun  photographs of the excited location and event. It was so much fun to sip beverages out of glasses made of ice. I wanted to take mine home, but you know how that would have turned out!!

The day concluded with the famous Constitution Cruise, courtesy of Boston Harbor Cruises. What an extensive tour we received while cruising on Boston Harbor. Guests had the opportunity to disembark in Charlestown to view Old Ironsides before cruising back to Long Wharf after such an exciting day. A special thank you to Gina Cameron; gcameron@bostonharborcruises.com and Doug Hall; DHall@bostonharborcruises.com for making the cruise possible for all of our guests.

The GBCA Family Fun Day is the brain child of Bob Schwartz. Bob enlists his friends and the businesses that make up the GBCA membership to share with our members and their families this special day. Again, thank you to Bob and the rest of the team for allowing us this incredible opportunity, memories that will last us a life time.

On behalf of all of us at the GBCA, thank you all so very much.
