Find a New Job with the Career Center Collection

We've pulled together all the books you'll need to find a job or start a career in one convenient and easy-to-browse Career Center collection.
Find books on resumes and interviewing. Take practice employment tests. Learn how to start a business. Pick up college and financial aid guides.
Plus, since almost every job these days requires computer knowledge, all of our computer books are in the collection, too.

The Friends of the Library Annual Meeting

Join the Friends of the Library at their annual meeting on Thursday, May 2 at 7 p.m.
The Friends will elect next year's officers, offer a report on this year's activities, and present Warwick Library with a $6500 donation.
The Friends sponsor concerts, storytimes, movies, museum passes, and summer reading, and last year, they gave over $15,000 to the library.

Book Club for Kids Thursday, May 9 at 6:30 p.m.

Read a book in May, and meet the author in June.
Inside Out & Back Again by Thanhha Lai tells the story of a Hà, a young Vietnamese girl who moves from Saigon to Alabama in 1975. Read Inside Out, and come for a Book Club chat on May 9.
On June 1, head to the Rhode Island State House for Kids Reading Across Rhode Island. See performers, exhibits, and crafts from 1 - 4 p.m., and meet Thanhha Lai at 2:30 p.m.

Have Your Soil Tested
by URI Master Gardeners
Saturday, May 4 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.

Bring your soil to the URI Master Gardeners to find out its pH, and learn how you can make your soil better.
Prepare a sample using the following steps:
1. Dig eight scoops of dirt from the area you want to test.
2. Put the dirt in a quart baggie and mix.
3. Take out one cup of dirt and air dry.
4. Put dry dirt in a sandwich baggie.
5. Label the baggie, i.e. front lawn, vegetable garden, etc.
6. Bring up to two samples. Your results will be ready in about 1/2 hour.
