Explore the stories of San José with a walking tour
Downtown's history lives again with our knowledgeable local guides

Estimados,

On Saturday, September 28, San José Walks & Talks will offer our one-hour Adobe to Adobe walking tour at 4 p.m. starting near San Pedro Square. We'll visit some well-known and some unknown downtown sites, and along the way student-guides will tell some of the historic, funny, tragic and surprising stories of San José.

Our guides are local San José students who've done their homework about the city of San José. Our guests are usually local residents with an occasional tourist ... just about anyone who enjoys a walk and a talk.

This is a great opportunity to investigate downtown San José and also support San José Walks & Talks. We request a $5 donation to support this project. To RSVP for this walking tour and receive details on the tour meeting point, please email contact@sanjosewalksandtalks.orgGroups large and small can also book future tours by contacting sanjosewalksandtalks.org.

San José Walks & Talks is a project of the nonprofit Catalyst for Youth, and our aim is to help students uncover some of their hidden talents as they prepare for their future careers.

Please join us! And read on for a word from one of our favorite ¡VivaFest! sponsors.

Saludos,

Marcela

 A word from a sponsor

¡VivaFest! would not be possible without our generous sponsors supporting our vision. Here, learn a little more about one of our supporters, CEFCU.

Not a Bank. Better!

CEFCU is a proud supporter of ¡VivaFest!

Our passion is helping people. To us, helping people is more than a nice idea -- it's the reason we're in business. CEFCU was founded in 1937 on the principle of borrowers helping savers and savers helping borrowers. Our members are like family. We believe that together, we can all improve our financial well-being and accomplish our goals.

CEFCU is not like other financial institutions (even other credit unions), because we have different goals and values.

  • First, we are genuinely helpful. We put members first by encouraging them to make smart financial decisions even if that means less income for us in the short-term. We are committed to the communities we serve and actively participate or host events that support educating our youth and the Hispanic community.
  • Second, we are fairWe don't base our decisions on making a profit. Instead, we look for ways to deliver a better value. If it's the right thing for our members and their families, then it's the right thing to do.
  • Third, we are resourcefulOur ability to survive and thrive despite economic challenges is one of the things that make us great. We persist through believing in our members, local businesses, and our community. 2012 was another successful year at CEFCU and to show our thanks, we returned $9,000,000 back to our members!

Even though CEFCU isn't a bank, members enjoy all the financial services they need -- for all their needs. We're ready to help you, too! Give us a call (1.800.633.7077) or stop by any of our three South Bay locations. To learn more visit us online at cefcu.com.
