Meet the filmmakers and stars at ¡VivaFest! 2013 film series
Producer of new PBS series 'Latino Americans' is one of many special guests

Estimados,

Next up in the ¡VivaFest! 2013 coming attractions: our film series at the Tech Museum of Innovation. And the excitement won't be just on the silver screen. We're thrilled to announce that all three screenings will feature personal appearances.

The series begins September 9 with the South Bay premiere of a major new documentary series: "Latino Americans," which tells the story of Latinos in the United States from the 16th century to today. The six-hour documentary comes to PBS television this fall, but you can be among the first viewers in Silicon Valley to see episode six, which we'll screen at 6 p.m. at the Tech Museum.

Following the showing, Ray Telles, one of the producers of "Latino Americans," will be on hand for a Q&A with the audience. A nationally recognized producer, he last came to ¡VivaFest! in 2010 for the screening of "The Storm That Swept Mexico," his documentary on the Mexican Revolution.

On September 13, we'll have a whole company of special guests. With our ¡VivaFest! screening of the documentary "Escaramuza: Riding From the Heart," the film's team of first-generation Mexican horsewomen will join us in costume! The 6 p.m. screening at the Tech Museum will be followed by an audience Q&A.

Third in our series is "Mariachis Transform Tucson." Filmmaker Dan Buckley, a member of the Mariachi Hall of Fame and former journalist with the Tucson Daily Citizen, will be here with us all the way from Arizona for this partial screening of a work in progress. Get an exclusive look at this exciting new project on 6 p.m. September 18 at the Tech Museum.

Can't wait that long? Check out this video teaser for the film.
