I certainly hope you and your family have a very Happy Holiday Season and a healthy, joyous and prosperous New Year.

There are plenty of reasons to be grateful in Steamboat Springs.  Our public  schools continue to rank as one of the best in Colorado.  Steamboat continues to receive recognition as one of the best small towns to live, with the most recent coming from 101usa.com.  Our award winning hospital is expanding to provide additional quality health care.  Our economy has continued to improve, from both a retail and real estate perspective.  The momentum to improve Yampa Street is continuing on it's steady path.  And Mother Nature has bestowed upon us a substantial amount of snowfall thus far this year.

The following two images of downtown Steamboat were taken a little over 36 hours apart.  The first is from Saturday afternoon and second was shot at 8:30 AM this morning.  You can see the dramatic change in such a short time from literally the same location...



As of 5 AM this morning, the Steamboat ski area reported six inches of new snow.  This has added to the 100" inch season snowfall mark that was exceeded early last week.

The ski area has developed a really cool LIVE "Snow Cam" showing their measuring station at the top of Sunshine Peak, at 10,384' above sea level.  Once on this site, you will not only see the current weather, but also go back in time and see past weather.  If you want to see some massive accumulation we've already had, go back to 12/15 between midnight and 6 AM to see what Mother Nature can do in such a short period of time.  Click here for the web page.  


The week-long forecast shows snow in our future until Saturday (12/26), so combined with the Season, there will be plenty of smiles around Steamboat Springs over the Holidays for a variety of reasons.
