The BIG News...
It's Snowing in Steamboat!
 

 
This past weekend was the third time this fall Mt Werner has been blasted by a fall snowstorm, and even lower elevations on the valley floor have had a dusting here and there. However, Haymaker Golf Course is still open and weather permitting, scheduled to stay so until November 16...only 10 days before skiing begins!  With nighttime temps dipping below freezing, the ski area's snowmaking machines have been working for over a week now to guarantee a November 26 Opening Day.

Best of the Boat and ROTY!

I would like to thank all of you who voted in the Steamboat Pilot's Best of the Boat contest.  I'm very appreciative and happy to report that because of your efforts I was awarded First Place as Best Real Estate Agent!  Click here to read the announcement.

Also in October I was elected REALTOR of the Year by the Steamboat Springs Board of REALTORS.  I feel very fortunate to earn such respect in our industry.

The BIGGEST News...
We've Merged!
On October 1, 2014, Buyer's Resource and Steamboat Sotheby's International Realty merged.  We took the Sotheby's name and will be keeping our downtown office.  Both offices are very excited about our future together.  If you would like to read the story the Steamboat Pilot published on our merger, click here.

There were many reasons this was a smart move for us.  We have been in business for 15 years and have had clients (friends) who wanted us to list their property but could not.  (Shoot, because of our exclusive business model I didn't even list my own properties when I wanted to sell them!) 

Further, since the consumer advocacy movement began in the 1980's (which started with exclusive buyer brokers), the Colorado Real Estate Commission has taken major strides toward protecting buyer interests.  The way real estate is now practiced has changed considerably, allowing traditional brokers to represent buyers in a fiduciary capacity (provided they do not have a listing their client wants to buy).

Although there will be a Sotheby's sign above our door, I'm still going to be running the show in our beautiful downtown office and you'll see the same friendly faces and receive the same professional service, reliability and care, whether you are wanting to buy or sell.
