Mission: Dedicated to the well-being and education of the children in our community.
Vision: Closing the gap between opportunity and achievement for the children in our community.

"If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more, and become more, you are a leader." - John Quincy Adams

Yasmeen began participating in the Community Storehouse Youth Leadership Development Program during high school. She volunteered four hours a week with the Community Storehouse Office during her senior year. This year, as a college freshman, Yasmeen has continued to give her time and talent by volunteering at seasonal events like Christmas House and participating in the Leaders are Readers component of the After School Reading Program at North Riverside Elementary School. North Riverside alum, Yasmeen was happy to participate in this program as a guest reader. Guest readers recognize that it is never too early for students to be exposed to different fields, to learn that reading is a part of all occupations, and that community members recognize that reading is vital and exciting.
Leaders are Readers participants this year included: Dr. Monica Mathur, Chief Medical Officer, Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Alliance; Dr. Randy Reid, KISD Superintendent; Dr. Allen Goben, President Tarrant County College NE; Scott Hoover Stier, District Director - Rep. Matt Krause; and Chief James Brandon, Southlake Police Department.

Thank You All!
For showing us that Leaders Are Readers!

Sponsor: Give back to local kids through a Run sponsorship. This allows you and your business maximum exposure in front of 3,000+ people, while also making a positive impact on the children's programs we offer year-round. To learn more, visit runinthedarkDFW.com or email Megan Stiller at csfundraiser@communitystorehouse.org.

Run/Walk: Join us as a runner or walker! You can sign up for the 5K, 10K, or 1 Mile Fun Run. Even better, put a team of 10 or more together for discounted registration! Either way, your guaranteed to have a great time!

Volunteer: Hundreds of volunteers are needed to assist us on race day! Whether you're passing out water bottles, cheering on the runners, or overseeing the parking lots, your help and time are a gift to our organization. For more information about volunteering on race day, please contact Ellyn Temple at volcoordinator@communitystorehouse.org.

Kid Zone:
We need small groups to help us organize and manage the carnival-style games that make up Kid Zone. If you enjoy kids, and would like to help us by bringing a game, we would be so grateful! Kid Zone will run from 4:30-9:00 pm on race day and will help us to raise additional funds for our local children. For more information, please contact Jill LeBaron at csmarketing@communitystorehouse.org.
