Mission: Dedicated to the well-being and education of the children in our community.
Vision: Closing the gap between opportunity and achievement for the children in our community.

Jackie's Story:
Jackie* is five years old and has just completed pre-school at the Keller ELC. She is autistic, her mother is three years into a five year prison term and her grandfather passed away in mid-May. Not the way any child should begin their summer vacation. Jackie's grandmother and guardian, Diane*, came into Community Storehouse looking for help. Diane became Jackie's guardian four years ago. While other people their ages retire, Diane and her husband continued working to support Jackie and provide for her special needs. Last month, Diane's husband passed away and she is now struggling financially while dealing with estate issues. Diane is determined to stay in the KISD because Jackie has flourished in the district's special education program thus far. She feels it is best for Jackie and what her late husband would have wanted her to do. Diane and Jackie will receive food assistance through the pantry for June, July and August. They are signed up for the Summer Lunch Program and Back to School Event. Additionally, we were able pay their TXU energy bill.*Client's name has been changed to maintain her privacy.

As we gear up for Quest Summer Enrichment Program, please keep our children, teachers, and volunteers in your thoughts. From July 9th-July 30th, educators and volunteers will be working with over 115 children grades K-2nd who are living at or below the poverty level in the Keller, Northwest and Carroll ISD's. They will be working to increase their reading abilities and to help them overcome their academic struggles. We are so excited about the changes we will see happen during this program. Children will be encouraged and their skills will be strengthened. We can't wait!!
If you'd like to see this program in action, or you would like to donate to support our mission, please contact our office by calling 817-431-3340 or emailing csmarketing@communitystorehouse.org.

The Storehouse is in need of summer help for our front office. If you love to interact with people, have great phone manners, are able to do light computer work and can multi-task - then the front receptionist desk just might be the right place for you! The summer is busy with programs and vacations and your help would be greatly appreciated.

Please contact Ellyn Temple at volcoordinator@communitystorehouse.org for further information or questions about volunteering here at the Storehouse.
