Kick-Off Events

Get excited for Oakland Restaurant Week with a foodie-focused food panel, held Friday, January 18 from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. at City Hall. Meet some of Oakland's most well-beloved food entrepreneurs and learn how they engage with the local restaurant industry. Speakers include Adam Lamoreaux of Linden Street Brewery and Reem Rahim of Numi Tea. To RSVP, email Margot Prado at mprado@oaklandnet.com. Space is limited. Jack London Square's newest neighbor Nido will hold their official Grand Opening as a part of Oakland Restaurant Week, along with PieTisserie. Enjoy Grand Opening specials and the prix fixe menu for Restaurant Week.  Reservations are recommended and can be made here.

Oakland's Tanya Holland is "Chef of the Year"

Tanya Holland, acclaimed chef and owner of Brown Sugar Kitchen and B-Side BBQ, will be celebrated as the California Chef/Restaurateur of the Year at the California Travel Summit. Holland was the chosen recipient for the award based on her success in creating not one, but two, dining establishments that exemplify the best in culinary arts. She has been recognized as a leader in Oakland's rising restaurant scene, and this year, the City of Oakland named June 5 "Tanya Holland Day," acknowledging her positive impact on Oakland. Holland will also be featured on the Knife Point Chef Interviews on January 14 as a part of California Restaurant Month. Get a taste of Holland's delicious barbecue during Oakland Restaurant Week at B-Side BBQ.
