  1. Georgia communities to celebrate National Travel and Tourism Week May 2-10, 2015

    National Travel and Tourism Week serves to champion the power of our industry. The travel community typically marks the event in a number of creative ways, from staging local rallies and conducting media outreach to securing proclamations and resolutions from local governments.   2. Apply for a scholarship to attend STS Marketing College Aug. 2-7 in Dahlonega

    The Georgia Department of Economic Development (GDEcD) and Miles, interactive agency of record for the GDEcD, will offer a full scholarship to the Southeast Tourism Society Marketing College to a tourism marketing professional working in the state of Georgia. Marketing College is held Aug. 2-7, 2015, on the University of North Georgia campus in Dahlonega. Apply today! The deadline to submit applications is April 24, 2015.


  3. Take advantage of state-negotiated advertising rates

    Two Georgia Tourism programs aim to make advertising more affordable and effective for regional tourism associations (RTAs), convention and visitors bureaus (CVBs) and other tourism partners. See how to take advantage of the RTA Grant Program and the Co-op Advertising Program's special rates for print and digital media.


  4. Time for road trips! Gas prices expected to stay low this summer

    A number of sources are projecting gasoline prices to stay low this summer, which could lead to an increase in summer road trips.
