Donald B. Thomas
Acoustical Expert to Speak
Donald B. Thomas is a research scientist with the federal government. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Missouri and has held post-doctoral appointments at the University of Arizona and the University of Nebraska. He is currently on the adjunct faculty of the University of Texas. He is past president of the Coleopterists Society and is a subject editor for the Annals of the Entomological Society of America. Thomas has authored over 100 articles in scientific journals and two books, one of them,

Hear no Evil, addressing acoustical evidence in the Kennedy assassination.

In 2001, the international forensic journal Science and Justice, published Thomas' peer-reviewed article entitled "The Acoustic Evidence in the Kennedy Assassination Revisited." That article prompted new debate over the House Select Committee on Assassinations' finding by confirming a shot from the grassy knoll. Subsequent work by Thomas lead to the groundbreaking book Hear No Evil: Social Constructivism and the Forensic Evidence in the Kennedy Assassination
. In his book, Thomas explains the acoustics evidence in detail, placing it in the context of an analysis of all the scientific evidence in the Kennedy assassination.

Hear No Evil: Social Constructivism and the Forensic Evidence in the Kennedy Assassination is a detailed account of the major scientific evidence in the JFK murder, presenting an analysis which builds toward a powerful presentation of the "acoustics evidence" for which Thomas is well known. Thomas' book indicates the evidence five shots in Dealey Plaza, including one from the infamous "Grassy Knoll." Certain to be a highlight for conference attendees Thomas will present the latest information concerning the acoustical evidence captured on the Dallas Police Department's dictabelt recording.

Sherry Fiester
Forensic Analysis of the Fatal Head Shot
Sherry Fiester is a retired Certified Senior Crime Scene Investigator and Police instructor with over 25 years of experience. She has testified as a court certified expert in crime scene investigation, crime scene reconstruction, and bloodstain pattern analysis in Louisiana Federal Court and over 30 judicial districts in the states of Louisiana, Mississippi and Florida. Author of numerous articles in professional publications, Fiester has recently completed her second book, Enemy of the Truth: Myths, Forensics, and the Kennedy Assassination.

In Enemy of the Truth, Fiester filters available evidence through contemporary, reliable, established forensic disciplines thereby revealing cohesive and compelling information supported by the weight of scientific validity. The book addresses eight myths surrounding the assassination, including the limousine stop, two simultaneous head shots and the Dallas PD crime scene investigation as it compares to 1963 national standards.

Fiester will be presenting information that not only proves scientifically there was a front shot to Kennedy's head but mathematically determines the area for that shooter using contemporary bullet trajectory reconstruction techniques. Written from the perspective of a forensic investigator, Fiester approaches the assassination as an unsolved major crime revealing new information that meets the standard of evidence required to support a criminal conviction in today's courtroom.

JFK Lancer's NID 2013 is a historical research conference focusing on expertise in political and intelligence history of the 1960s, also its ability to do highly effective archival and document work and how it applies to the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. Additionally, there will be exciting exploratory and educational presentations on what has been learned from newer research into forensics, ballistics, and crime scene evidence in general. The theme will be - It's Time To Take Another Look - at evidence as we know it today, not as the Warren Commission knew it in 1964.
