New Research Measures the Effectiveness of the Leave No Trace Youth-Based PEAK Program

A team of researchers from State University of New York, Cortland, Old Dominion University and Western Kentucky University recently published results from their investigation of Leave No Trace's PEAK (Promoting Environmental Awareness in Kids) 
program. The researchers developed a scale that could be used to assess the effectiveness of PEAK.

5 Tips To Identify a Durable  Surface

What effect does a footstep have? The answer is: it depends. A footstep means different things to a tree sapling and meadow grass, to leaf litter and cryptobiotic soil, to a gravely river bank and rain forest moss. 


When talking about durable surfaces, we're referring to surfaces that show little, to no, indication of one's passing. They're tough!



Stewardship Initiative Promotes Leave No Trace Work in Communities Nationwide

Community Stewardship Initiative to give back to the outdoors while also learning how to Leave No Trace.
