Zeller Busses Brokers to Chicago

Not because there's any shortage of brokers in Chicago, but because they wanted to give their Indy brokers a preview of things to come at their Meridian Plaza complex.  Meridian Plaza, for those of you who don't know or who may want to take a tour, is at 10333 N. Meridian Street.
Zeller Realty Group is headquartered in Chicago at 401 N. Michigan Avenue, and they also just happen to own a little icon across the street called the Wrigley Building. Wrigley and 401 sit at the gateway of N. Michigan Avenue, Chicago's Magnificent Mile.  This broker excursion gave Zeller the chance to deepen their relationships with brokers they've been doing business with and better get to know people they haven't done as much business with in the past as they'd like.  "It was just an opportunity to get people away from the office and get to know them on a different level," said Tristan Glover, Vice President of Zeller who, along with Nick Trimpe, Leasing Associate, hosted the excursion.
"By now everyone knows that Millennials are attracted to older buildings with a  history, but with office space that offers a more interesting and collaborative environment," said Glover.  But how can they duplicate what is taking place in Chicago here in Indianapolis?  Most historic buildings here in Indianapolis have been torn down.  So where can owners now create this interesting and collaborative space that will enable companies to attract the Millennial talent?  Whether it is urban or suburban, historic or built in the 80s or 90s, Zeller has become the redevelopment leader in creating interesting spaces that go beyond infrastructure.  "It's about the environment, the outdoor space, the amenities," says Glover.  This is what Zeller started doing in Meridian Mark and what they are now bringing to Meridian Plaza.
But all work and no play would make for a boring trip, so Zeller took everyone up on "an awesome party bus," with tables and different areas to play games, eat and drink or just hang out.  And after the office tours they treated the group to a Cubs game at Wrigley Field.  It just so happened that Wrigley Field was celebrating it's 100th anniversary and Zeller was celebrating it's 25th anniversary.  And, since they own the Wrigley Building they, of course, wanted to take everyone to a Cubs game at Wrigley Field.  (It's about the history, not the infrastructure.)  And, apparently an historic feature, treat, whatever you want to call it, at Wrigley Field is that you can, "take a leak in a trough." (Is that a thing?  Do we like this?)

Another "must do" thing at Wrigley is playing Mountain Ball, where everyone puts a dollar is a cup.  After every 3 outs the ump rolls the ball onto the mound.  If it stays, whoever is holding the cup wins all the money.  If the ball rolls off everyone puts in another dollar and passes the cup again. At the end of the game Tristan Glover was holding the cup, winning $180, so he and Nick took the gang to the Old Crow Smokehouse and Nick bought everyone moonshine

I have decided to become a broker just so I can show office space in all the Zeller buildings around town.
