Spring Delights
Blenheim Organic Gardens
Blenheim is back at the market with asparagus, micro greens, salad mix, spinach, arugula, mixed field greens, kale, collards, pea shoots, Broccolini, and sweet potatoes.
Betsy's Baked Goods Betsy loves doing Easter treats! Here is a list of what she's been working on: EASTER/SPRING Special Seasonal Cookies: Frosted Sugar Cookies in assorted colors of egg shapes, or bunnies (with or without "fur" = coconut), Easter Nests (coconut nests with mini chocolate eggs), Easter Butter Cookies (multicolored, shaped like eggs, hint of lemon), Jelly Bean Cookies (a big favorite - with top quality jelly beans in a sugar cookie), and Checkerboards (some with spring decor). Additional Cookies will be Chocolate Chip, White Chocolate Macadamia Nut, Triple Chocolate Fudgies, Oatmeal Raisin, Pineapple Raisin Drops (a 50s era recipe, soft and delicious), Snickerdoodles, Food for the Gods (and Goddesses), and Molasses Sugar. Gluten Free Cookies will be Peanut Butter Kisses, Forgotten Cookies, Vanilla Sticks, and Popcorn Treats. SEASONAL BREADS: Hot Cross Buns (packaged in fours), Brioche (small buttery, touch of lemon rolls), and Egg Braid. Sweet Breads will include Lemon Loaf (great with strawberries!), Sour Cream Coffee Cake, Morning Glory Muffins (regular or reduced sugar), & Pecan Sugar Crisps. Yeast Breads will be Oatmeal Bread and Cheese Bread Knots.
Evergreen Springs
Evergreen Springs will have turkey, goose, duck and chicken eggs as well as asparagus and other vegetables.
Rockahock Farm
Rockahock Farm will have gingered carrot soup this Saturday. |
