Howell Creative Group Wins National Award
The brand identity/logo Howell Creative Group developed for Williamsburg Farmers Market has won the prestigious American Graphic Design Award. Out of the 8000-plus entries received annually, fewer than 15% win the coveted award.

Members of the Howell Creative team (Christy Keeler, Art Director; Kathy Howell, President & Creative Director; and Designers Tyler McLeod and Svetlana Gotra) presented the award to the Board of the Williamsburg Farmers Market at their meeting October 9, 2013.

"We've loved the Williamsburg Farmers Market from it's inception, are proud to show our support by donating the brand development -- and now, receiving this award is icing on the cake for our Howell Creative team." shared Kathy Howell, President and Creative Director.

Howell Creative Group, celebrating its 31st year in Williamsburg, is a full-service, award-winning agency that provides for clients: strategic marketing consultation, public relations, advertising, branding and logo development, exhibit design, marketing collateral and event planning and management.

What year did you go into business?
We went into business in 2007 and were awarded Virginia's Finest in 2009.

What year did you begin at the WFM?
The market manager saw our products and invited us to show them at the 2008 holiday market. We continued to be a part of the WFM ever since.

Of all of the products you sell, which is the customer's favorite?
In our classic line of cakes, the customers favorite is the Rum cake for holidays and gift giving, but the pound cake is the consistent favorite year round. We have customers come from other states to purchase them at the WFM.

What is your favorite thing about the Williamsburg Farmers Market? The fellowships and friendships we have developed over the past four and a half years with our customers is one of our favorite things about the market. Also the joy we experience weekly with the children who regularly and joyfully come to select one of their favorite cupcakes. Some even save their coins during the week to pick out their treat on Saturday.

In the years that you have participated in the WFM, what is the biggest change?
The biggest change we have noticed is the status of the market having achieved natural recognition. We often have customers from other areas who tell us they had heard of WFM and wanted to work a visit in with their vacation to Williamsburg. We are so grateful for the exceptional management of this market.
