Soft Shell Crabs
Nice selection from VA Blue Crab
Spring has been slow to warm
the ground and the waters.  Last
week, with the protection of a hoop-house, KelRae Farm brought the first tomatoes and summer squash to the market.  Squash may be picked from the fields this week depending on the weather. A few lingering asparagus will reward early bird market shoppers on Saturday. And finally the crabs are shedding.

The strawberries keep on fruiting and the peonies that missed Mother's Day are ready to decorate Memorial Day picnic tables.

Cheese Straws, Rockahock

 Baked Goods Save Time

The market options are diverse for adding something special to a meal.  Pound cake, pies, bread pudding, whole wheat baguettes, ravioli, and spanakopita are a few items to pick up ready made.
Pork, beef or catfish are great for a cookout.
