The Renaissance

cheese maker of Everona Dairy passed away in early May. Although she was a physician, she loved raising Border Colllies, which led to raising sheep, which led to making her aged Farmhouse Cheese.  Fortunately the sought after cheese will continue with her son, Brian  running the farm and daughter-in-law, Carolyn working as the cheese maker.

"Seasons with Brian and Julia"
"Seasons with Brian and Julia" was filmed primarily in rural Mathews County on the Middle Peninsula of Virginia by filmmaker Robert Griffith. Griffith was able to capture and convey from Brian and Julia the challenging lives they lead in their own environment. As the documentary portrays, the uncertainty of their livelihood is emotional, and Griffith worked intensely with the couple for a full year to fully capture the story of their lives as small farmers season by season.
