Dr. Shah's October News!

Greetings!

Happy Fall! We are getting nicely settled into our new space inside the Medical Center of Issaquah. It is so wonderful to be here! PacLab is literally across the hall, Medical Center Pharmacy is downstairs and the most wonderful nutritionist ever, Hannah Epstein, has joined me in my practice. I feel very grateful (which is a nice way to feel right before Thanksgiving).

Bringing you a few pieces of news: trade your copay, more about Hannah Epstein, IV Therapy announcement and a quick note about the dispensary.
Trade Your Co-pay!

For the rest of October and all of November you will have the
option of trading in your copay with Dr. Shah for an equal value of food or clothing for the Issaquah Food Bank. I have a huge 56 gallon drum outside my door and would really appreciate if you could help me fill it up! I am happy to give up the copay, if you can drop something in.

Please think healthy when you are choosing things from your pantry. When I went by to get the drum, I was so saddened by, first of all, the total lack of food on their shelves, but also that all the food was so unhealthy. Think low sodium soups, whole grain fiber bars, Kashi cereals. Get creative! Obviously has to be easily made with little kitchen time and resources and not persishable. They are also in dire need of coats, scarves, hats, etc for all ages. For those of you who don't want to contribute, there is no pressure!!

Dr. Shah's Dispensary Reminder

Remember that when I send a link to you from my dispensary, your individualized instructions for each supplement is included in the list. Please save this information by printing it out or saving it to a word document, so when your shipment comes you know how to take everything. I am trying to get them to include the instructions in the shipment as well, but we haven't quite gotten there yet. If you have never seen personalized instructions and can't find them, just email or call me and I will send the instructions to you.

IV Nutrition Now Available!

We are ready to offer basic IV nutrient therapy and will start with something many of you are familiar with, the Meyers Cocktail.

The basic Myers' formula consists of a well-tested mixture of magnesium, calcium, vitamin C, and an assortment of B vitamins diluted in sterile water. The total amount of solution is about 40 ml and is injected slowly into a vein in your arm over about ten minutes. The two most common sensations reported are the odd experience of tasting a vitamin from the inside out, so to speak, and a not unpleasant sensation of warmth, often in the pelvic region.

Doctors who administer the Myers' to their patients broadly agree that it's most helpful for these conditions:

* Fibromyalgia
* Chronic fatigue
* Tension and migraine headaches
* Depression
* Asthma
* Anti-viral immune boost when you feel you're coming down with a cold or flu or have been exposed to viral infections (popular with elementary school teachers, as you might imagine).

It is important to have up to date liver and kidney function testing before all IV therapy treatments, so an introductory office visit needs to be scheduled first. Treatments are suggested once a week over 3-4 weeks to start, although for some conditions they are given more frequently. You may schedule an IV consultation through our websites onsite booking portal.

Thank you all for your patience during this time of growth and change. I am so grateful for each and every one of you!

Sincerely,

Rian Shah, ND
