The Integrated Training Collaborative (ITC) coordinates Virginia's Comprehensive System of Personnel Development (CSPD) which is the professional development system for early interventionists who provide supports and services to eligible children and families under Part C of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).

Autism, BCBAs and More!

April is Autism Awareness month! According to the Center for Disease Control, approximately 1 out of every 68 children has been identified with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Certainly early interventionists across Virginia have seen an increase in very young children identified with ASD. Enhancing providers' skills to support identified infants and toddlers and their families is imperative. In 2014 regulations became effective sanctioning the use of Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) and Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analysts (BCaBAs) as providers of developmental services. Check out these resources to expand your knowledge of ASD and use of BCBAs:

Interested in talking with other early interventionists who support infants and toddlers with ASD and their families? The member-led, statewide CoPA is a great way to share ideas and learn from each other. We meet every other month by phone for one hour. Our next meeting is Monday, May 23, 2016 from 3:00-4:00PM.

totTALKS ON TUESDAYS

Talks on Tuesdays (ToTs) are one-hour webinars designed to provide free online training opportunities related to important topics in early intervention. Topics chosen for the Talks on Tuesdays webinar series are based on feedback from EI practitioners about what they need to know more about! ToTs are held on the first Tuesday of the month from 12:00-1:00PM.
