MARCH 2016

The Integrated Training Collaborative (ITC) coordinates Virginia's Comprehensive System of Personnel Development (CSPD) which is the professional development system for early interventionists who provide supports and services to eligible children and families under Part C of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).

Collaborating with your Team

Early intervention (EI) teams take different forms, including assessment teams, IFSP teams, and intervention teams. Professional team members collaborate with one another and with the caregiver, who is a key team member. Which professionals participate on an EI team depend on the requirements of each program, staffing, schedules, and the strengths and needs of a child and family. Regular opportunities for professional team members to meet to share successes and challenges, learn from and support one another are important but not always easy to accomplish. Take a look at these resources to expand your knowledge of how to implement good teaming practices:

According to Catherine Hancock's email to LSMs on 1/7/15, Kaleidoscope I and II will be cancelled for Spring 2016. The ITC team will be working this spring and summer to update and revise Kaleidoscope training to streamline content, take advantage of new professional development  (PD) materials, and align the curriculum with best practices in PD and implementation science. The requirement to attend KI and KII within one year of employment will be extended to Fall 2016 for new staff. Please see Catherine's email for additional information.

totTALKS ON TUESDAYS

Talks on Tuesdays (ToTs) are one-hour webinars designed to provide free online training opportunities related to important topics in early intervention. Topics chosen for the Talks on Tuesdays webinar series are based on feedback from EI practitioners about what they need to know more about! ToTs are held on the first Tuesday of the month from 12:00-1:00PM.
