Hello!

I would like to invite you to the next PTO/PTC meeting on Monday, February 25th at 7 PM. At this meeting, we hope to adopt by-laws and vote in a slate of PTO/PTC officers.

My name is Page Lee. I am Community Committee chair and a parent at CCS. This year, my main goal is to reorganize the Parent Teacher Organization in a way that reflects the vibrancy, talent and diversity of our community.

We had a great turnout at out last meeting! Many parents stepped up to lead various committees. We are still looking for a Fundraising Activities Chair. This chair will monitor our ongoing fundraising programs such as Box Tops for Education and be certain that there is always an active volunteer for each position. They will also help with small fundraising activities that are not attached to large events. Most of this work can be done from home. All of these programs are small, but they add up to real money and provide our children with some of the extras they deserve! So hoping a parent will step up for this committee.

We also need regular committee members. Many hands make for light work! And in our current economy with all the budget cuts education is taking, we need to pull together to make up some of the difference. Please come out on Monday to support your child and their school!

Here is a list of available positions and the people who have volunteered to fill them. Please read through the list and pick a committee that appeals to you. Then all you need to do is show up Monday and you will be assigned to that group. If you are not able to make the meeting, but still want to participate, please email Page Lee.


Chair - Page Lee - Signs checks, runs meetings
Vice Chair - Meredith Angel - Assists with meetings, steps in when chair is absent
Treasurer - Mary Stokes - Deposits checks, writes checks for Chair to sign
Secretary - Jessica Wright - Takes meeting notes and uploads them to website

Beautification and Seasonal Decoration Committee - Chair: Meredith Angel (Front planters to start. Keep bulletin boards updated on main floor with seasonal and/or student work. Put up and take down other seasonal decorations. Mowing, etc. continues to be handled by landscaping company.)

Community/Hospitality Committee - Chair: Mandi English (Non-fundraising event coordination like Fall Feast and Grandparent's Day, room parent coordination, volunteer training.)

Fundraising Events Committee - Chair: Kathy Heyman (Fall Festival, Spring fundraiser.)

Spring Arts Fundraiser Coordinator: Grant Howell (?)

Fundraising Activities Committee: Chair - Open (Manages Boxtops, discount card programs, other small fundraising events)

Educational Enrichment Committee - Chair: Aubrae Collins (Develops and supports after school enrichment activities and classes.)

Administrative Support Committee - Chair: Thaisa Kinney (Assists school administration and other committees with admin work including Excel file development and maintenance, DonorSnap maintenance, website maintenance, Constant Contact email outreach and data entry tasks. This is a great committee if you are a self-starter, have admin/computer skills and like to work from home.)
