The girls' basketball program capped off a very successful season for the program with their annual banquet. The banquet was once again a huge success with around 125 people in attendance. Several awards were given out on this night. For the varsity team, it was announced that Ariana Freeman was named as a first team all met. Several players also received all conference awards. Ariana Freeman and Marlena Tremba were named first team all WCAC while Jasmine Whitney, Lindsey Oblitey, and Jonquanae Cole were named honorable mention. Freeman was also named the state player of the year and Marlena Tremba named first team all state. Jonquanae Cole received the Most Improved Player award. The Menke Award went to Annie Kane.
The JV team also had some awards to distribute. Lauren Alger won both the Hardest Worker and Outstanding Player awards. Abby Thibodeaux won the Most Improved Player award. Teresa Neves won the Best Defensive Player award.

Jasmine Whitney will tryout for USA National Team
Congratulations to Freshman guard Jasmine Whitney on receiving an invitation to tryout for the USA Under-16 National team. Whitney will travel to Colorado Springs to the USA training facilities to compete in tryouts starting on May 23 - May 27. Good luck to Jasmine representing PVI in CO!!
Scott Allen Named VISGBA Division I State Coach of the Year
Varsity girls basketball head coach Scott Allen was named State Coach of the Year by the VA Independent Girls Basketball Association for the seventh time in the last 11 years. Coach Allen will be entering his 12th season at PVI and picked up his 200th career win this past season in December.
PVI WILL PLAY IN THE BEST OF MD JULY 26-28
Once again, we will compete in the prestigious Best of Maryland Girls Basketball Tournament July 26-28 at Damascus High School in Maryland. The tournament will feature over 20 of the nations best girls basketball teams in a three day tournament. Over 180 college coaches will be attending to watch.

ART TURNER MEMORIAL TIP OFF 2013 DECEMBER 6 - 8 2013
The Arthur Turner Memorial Tip-Off National Showcase will take place December 6 - 8, 2013 at Paul VI. The tip-off field will feature some of the nation's and area's top teams playing in a three day tip-off showcase. Games will kick off Friday night and Saturday/Sunday all day. This will be a major girls basketball event at PVI to tip-off the 2013-2014 season. The game schedule will be released in the coming months!
PVI Will Travel to Play in Naples Holiday National Shootout
The Lady Panthers have accepted an invitation to play in the nationest toughness girls basketball holiday tournament in Naples, FL December 29 - January 2. PVI will compete in the national bracket that will feature eight nationally ranked teams in the three day event.
