Varsity Basketball
The Lady Panthers return 10 players from the 2011-12 team and have added four new players to complete the roster at 14.
The start of the season is one of the most challenging in PVI girls basketball history with eight games in fifteen days!! The season begins with the 4th Annual Art Turner Tip Off. PVI will play Stone Ridge on Friday night 7:00pm and then will have a rematch with 2012 VA Division II State Champions Miller School Saturday at 3:30pm.
Following the Tip Off, PVI travels to Elizabeth Seton Tuesday, then hosts cross town rival Flint Hill Saturday afternoon at 3:30 pm. On Sunday December 9th, the Lady Panthers have a special opportunity to be a part of the National Hoopfest at Dematha. PVI will take on 2012 City Champs HD Woodson in the inaugural girls game at 1:15pm. Following the Hoopfest, the girls will travel to Ireton on December 11, host Mcnamara Friday Dec 14, and play Saturday in the Tina Thompson College Showcase at Mcnamara 7:00 pm vs Ursuline Academy (PA). Come on out and root the Panthers on during this very challenging game schedule!!

JV BASKETBALL
The JV team has been preparing hard for the start of the new season. They looked very sharp in their scrimmages and look forward to opening the season on Saturday against an always tough Georgetown Visitation. We will find out how good the team is on Tuesday when travelling to Seton to take on a team with many returners from a strong JV team the previous season.
PVI JV returns five players from last years team in Lauren Alger, KK Wiggins, Megan Toth, Briana Florez, and Raney Swanberg. Three players from last year's Freshman team have moved up. They are Teresa Neves, Kelly Taplin, and Isabelle Murakami. Rounding out the team will be five freshmen. They are Carolyn Noe, Taylor Marsengill, Abby Thibodeau, Marie McNary, and Serena Morales.

FRESHMAN BASKETBALL
"This year's Freshmen girls basketball team shows great promise" says Head Coach Tony Conques (entering his 12th season at PVI). "We have an abundance of quick, aggressive guards and a host of inside players with skills". Coach Conques and his Assistant Leanne Conques are hoping to improve on last season's 16-4 record but it is difficult to assess their prospects with a schedule that includes three JV opponents, multiple games with Prince William County public schools, and the always strong WCAC competition. Guards include: Rachel Jahelka, Julie Heffernan, Keri Vornadore, Amy Creel, Abigail Rozmajzl, Ashley Bitto, and Bridgett Knowles. Forwards and Centers include: Anna McFarlane,Genna Coan, Monica Lawrence, Hannah Kurisky, Kathleen McLean, and Delaney Russell. The Freshmen open there season with what is always competitive game with Georgetown Visitation this Saturday at Noon in the PAC
