2013 Hiring Our Heroes Career Fair
12 Days and a Wake Up!
                     To a New Career...

Good Morning Friends & Colleagues,

The state's largest veteran hiring fair is back! The 2013 Hiring Our Heroes Career Fair is set for March 21, and we need to spread the word to any and all veterans who may be interested.

When & Where:

9:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m., Thursday, March 21, 2013

Palmer House Hilton

17 East Monroe Street, Chicago, IL 60603

This is an extraordinary opportunity to facilitate the transition of veteran job-seekers into the civilian workforce by showcasing the unique qualifications veterans bring to our businesses.

Sponsored by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in partnership with Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce , the Illinois Department of Veterans' Affairs (IDVA), and the Illinois Department of Employment Security (IDES); the Hiring Our Heroes Career Fair represents a historic joint effort on the part of employers, nonprofits and civic organizations to create job opportunities for U.S. military veterans and their spouses through personalized engagement with corporate partners.

This event - which utilizes an innovative model featuring candidate pre-screeningapplicant-employer matching and onsite interviews - will put over a 1,000 veteran job-seekers in interaction with at least 100 of the state and nation's top employers.  In doing so, not only will veterans have a chance to showcase the skills, integrity and discipline that set them apart from the average job-seeker, but employers will have a one-of-a-kind opportunity to recruit and hire America's future business leaders.

On hand to show their support we expect there will be numerous VIPs, national media partners including The Today Show, and a wide array of preeminent veteran advocates from both the public and private sector.

What Can You Do?

Share this with others or attend yourself.

Illinois veterans  represent an extremely capable class of professionals, and while they certainly have the talent, during these tough economic times, they often need a conduit to connect them with job-ready employers.  The Hiring Our Heroes Career Fair is this conduit, and you can help by forwarding and promoting this opportunity to any and all that may be interested.

Advanced registration is strongly suggested for veterans.  Remember, Veteran job-seekers attending this event will benefit from candidate pre-screeningapplicant-employer matching and potential onsite interviews with veteran job-seekers meeting with one or more of 100 of the state and nation's top employers. We have a complete roster of businesses and non-profit partners already signed up and committed to making the 2013 Hiring Our Heroes Career Fair a huge success.  What we need now is motivated, interested and dynamic veterans seeking great jobs and opportunities. Sign up NOW! or share this information with other vets in transition.

This News Just In!  The State of Illinois Central Management Services (CMS) is looking for well-qualified Veterans for a wide range of jobs with the State.  CMS representatives will be testing on-site and Veterans are encouraged to stop by with a completed CMS-100 form, which is the application for most State jobs.
