Dear friends, brothers and sisters in Christ. This week I Simon and Emma would like to give you a personal thank you.
We are honoured and grateful to you for your prayers of encouragement and healing's for my wife Emma. We truly thank the many visitors, who have brought flowers, cards, cakes, puddings and their love and blessings. Even going as far as holding their birthday party at our home, so Emma would not miss out.
Lately times have been very challenging for us I do admit.
Emma my wife is recovering from a major operation after having a spinal fusion.
She is very fragile and cannot lift or do the normal day to day chores, which will take her up to 6 months to partly recover.
Emma's disability has most certainly been a challenge for me, having to wake up twice in the night from a lovely peaceful sleep in the first month to turn Emma over in her bed, dress and undress her and help her to the bathroom.
And thanks to Emma's mother who has been amazing, and more then a mother in every way.
However just as the Bible teaches us that God makes good out of all situations.
I have learnt so much from looking after my wife Emma, such as cooking, washing and cleaning, and better still patience. I have become a professional at making our bed, so Emma tells her friends.
All the things I was once allergic to, I now do. Emma and I have learnt and discovered that I can cook food without no longer burning it and setting the house on fire. This makes a change from cooking microwave meals and salads.
The bad news for me is from now on I will be doing a lot more cooking and cleaning. Oh dear.
As we are personal careers in our own home, I have been doing much of Emma's jobs as well, such as caring for our three ladies as well as caring for her.
Well things will change again when I have a partial knee replacement and Emma will become my carer.
