Dear friends we love to share with you the bible archaeology. I get so excited to see the physical evidence of the bible. Emma and I just returned from The British Museum last Wednesday. We find it overwhelming to see so many biblical artifacts, clay tablets, and scrolls which tell us the same stories as told in the bible.
I will be writing to you about the many biblical artifacts we have just seen including showing you the photos of these amazing discoveries, so you to can also see and almost touch the physical evidence of the bible for yourself.
I simply want to help your faith in God become as strong as a rock so that when the trials and tribulations come, you will stand your ground and never give up your faith.
Bible Discoveries with evidence of the accuracy of the Bible provide us with great tools when we are witnessing to our 'neighbour'.
Here is my first one of many bible artefacts that confirm the Holy Bible before it was even written.
There was at one time no evidence of the book of Esther. This has now changed. Here we can see the actual beautiful silver plates from Persian king Artaxerxes I (reigned 465-425 B.C.E.).
And a tablet written by Xerxes discovered in the Kings palace, This is the same King who married Esther in the famous story told in the Bible of Esther 1. The Book of Esther refers to him as Artaxerxes, and the historian Josephus relates that this was the name by which he was known to the Greeks.
Book of Ezra
Ahasuerus is also given as the name of a King of Persia in the Book of Ezra. Jewish tradition regards him as the same Ahasuerus of the Book of Esther. As stated by Wikipedia.
And in the days of Artaxerxes wrote Bishlam, Mithredath, Tabeel, and the rest of their companions, unto Artaxerxes king of Persia; and the writing of the letter was written in Aramaic, and set forth in the Aramaic language. Ezra 4:7 KJV.
The name of the King is on the rim of these bowls.
The inscription has been translated as: "Artaxerxes the Great King, King of Kings, King of Countries, son of Xerxes the King, of Xerxes who was son of Darius the king; in whose royal house this silver saucer was made."
Maybe Esther used these same plates on her banquets.
Then the king made a great feast unto all his princes and his servants, even Esther's feast; and he made a holiday in all the provinces, and gave gifts, according to the liberality of the king. Esther 2:18. KJV.
