Eighth Grade Graduating Class of 2015
Dear Families,
Congratulations and fare thee well, class of 2015! Following a week of celebrations and goodbyes, the graduation exercises for our 8th grade students will take place at 7pm this evening. We wish them all the best as they head off to Bishop Blanchet High School, Seattle Preparatory School, Holy Names Academy, Shorecrest, Kings, Seattle Academy of Arts & Sciences, Roosevelt, O'Dea, Lakeside, Ballard, Ingraham, Aviation High and Shorewood! We are very proud of the achievements of this class. Well over half the class were accepted into two or more of the schools. They were offered over $200,000 in academic merit, faith and service awards!
On Sunday, at the 10:30 Mass, Fr. Crispin will bless Kathy Kelly as she prepares for retirement. Following 45 years of teaching, Queen Kathy Kelly is ready to choose when she comes to school! She promises that she will substitute, but is looking forward to the freedom of deciding that maybe she will read or do her scrapbooking instead! Please join us at Mass and afterwards in Egan Hall to wish her well.
One hectic week to go! We have Field Day, kindergarten graduation, and goodbyes. We will close the school year in the best Catholic way we know, with Mass at 8:45am on Friday, June 12. During the coming week, children will be bringing home their supplies, books and papers. We have accumulated a vast amount of sweaters, jackets and lunch bags. Please take some time to visit the lost and found in the west hallway and claim what is yours before we send it to St. Vincent de Paul!
Speaking of St. Vincent de Paul, each week representatives visit an average of three homes in our Greenwood community. Folks among us need help with rent, utilities, food and basic necessities. Thank you so much for sending in donations of canned and dried food to replenish the pantry. St. John Rocks!
Be sure to read all the announcements below!
