Auction Bowling Party 2015

Dear Families,

This weekend, we celebrate Good Shepherd Weekend. In each year of the liturgical cycle on this fourth Sunday, the Gospel is always taken from John, Chapter 10 in which Jesus speaks of himself as the "Good Shepherd."  It is a beautiful reading, telling how the shepherd knows his sheep and they know him, "just as the Father knows me and I know Him." Fr. Crispin is our earthly Good Shepherd and some of his flock - the children - have been making and coloring sheep for him this week. They will bring them to Mass this weekend and present them to Fr. Crispin. We are all grateful to our Good Shepherd.

We are also grateful and we wholeheartedly congratulate our auction team on their VERY SUCCESSFUL auction!  I extend a huge thank you to Fremont Studios for offering to host the event at a very reduced rate. It allowed us to have a bigger attendance and thus surpass the previous year's results! I don't want to steal the thunder from the auction team, so read their blog below.

April Arithmetic is fun times 1,000 and 100% of the students are looking forward to Math Day on April 28. The teachers are busy planning games and challenges for Family Math Night, when we expect turn-out of 99.9999% of the parent body! Thank you to Mrs. Brumback, Ms. Guidaitis and the Math Team for their leadership and organization of this event.

I'm looking forward to meeting all the Grandparents & Special Friends on Thursday, April 30! The Crowning of Mary and the Rosary will take place at 9:30am on May 1. The children can bring a flower for the altar and rosary beads. You are all welcome to attend. That weekend of May 2 and 3 will be a big one for the second graders who are receiving First Eucharist. Mark your calendars!

A group of middle school students, under the direction of Mr. James and Mr. Tice will be participating for the first time in the Robotics Extravaganza on May 2. See below for more details. We wish them all the very best. This is the first time a team from St. John is entering this event. Thank you, team!

These are busy days!

God Bless,

Bernadette O'Leary, Principal
