Principal's Letter

  Fifth Grade Colonial Gentlemen

Dear Parents,

At drop-off this morning we witnessed a very colorful parade of students eager for their special events today! The fifth graders celebrated Colonial Days and took us all on a historical journey with their colorful costumes!  The first and eighth grade buddies came ready for their Reading Rodeo, dressed in western style and very excited to spend time together over many books. School is so much fun - bet you all wish you could have my job!

We ask for your prayers for the Class of 2014, as they head out on the next leg of their adventure. Their commencement events begin with the Parent Tea tomorrow. On Sunday, at 10:30 we will celebrate the Baccalaureate Mass and Graduation will take place on June 5th.

May the Lord bless them and keep them,

May He grant them hope and courage in every endeavor,

May He hold them in the palm of His hands forever.

As we continue our efforts to meet the needs of all students I am pleased to announce that we will have an assistant shared between the third grades next year.  Mrs. Kim Miller will assist both Mrs. Castillo and Mrs. Kelly.  Look out for news of the kindergarten and second grade teaching assistants!

Summer vacation is around the corner and the excitement is pulsating!  The children are ready for adventures in the sunshine.  Summer is also a great time for relaxing reading and fun math games. Your teachers have great suggestions for you.  Next week, a guest speaker from Seattle Public Library will share the Summer Reading Program with students in grades K - 5.  Let there be no summer academic lag in your home!  In the meantime, see below for the various events and activities as we round out the year.

Beannacht,

Our newest clinic will be in Bar Kowino, Kenya, and you can help us build it. The Share the Health Benefit Auction is your chance to help provide Bar Kowino's rural poor critically needed accessible, affordable - and sustainable - healthcare for thousands in need. And have an amazing time.

Our goal is to raise $120,000. This money will build and stock the Bar Kowino clinic, as well as support our staff and services for one year - as we ramp up our programs and ease the fledgling clinic into self-sustainability.   Tickets Available Here
