Principal's Letter

Mason O., Grade 3 with his Grandfather

Dear Families,

Welcome, Grandparents and Special Friends!   Today is one of the most popular days of the school year. Students in grades two through five enjoyed lunch with their grandparents and offered them a glimpse of their activities at school. We, teachers, value the opportunity to meet the students' grandparents and special friends.

Catholic Relief Services has asked for assistance for those stricken by the typhoon in the Philippines. It is estimated that 9.5 million people are suffering from the destruction. They need shelter, food, water, sanitation and medicine. We are answering the call. We will begin a coin drive tomorrow.   This is a good time for you to count your blessings and to look under your car seats, your sofa cushions, your purses and pockets and send us your change!   We will also accept dollar bills, of course. It is important for us to teach the children about our global family.  Over the next few weeks, during the Advent season, you will also hear more about ways the students are helping our local families in need.

You won't want to miss your association, the Parent Association, meeting on Tuesday evening. Dr. John Medina will have valuable information for all of us.   We have opened this meeting to the parents at many schools in our deanery, so be on time to get a good seat.

Fulcrum Foundation

Hossfeld Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) - Fulcrum Foundation

Deadline:  December 13, 2013
A Fulcrum Foundation Hossfeld Tuition Assistance grant provides $1,071 towards elementary tuition.  For parish families this grant helps to bridge the difference between Fair Share pledges and the actual cost to educate; for out of parish families, the grant reduces the amount of tuition owed.

Please visit the Foundation's website for more information about this grant, and to apply for the 2014/2015 school year (not compatible with Safari). Applications are being accepted  now.  The school office must receive a hard copy of your application, along with required financial documents.  Contact Diane Crockett in the school office, with questions.
