Year of FaithWe praise you, O Lord,
for all your works
are wonderful,
forever is your love.

  from Psalm 114

Thank you!

Dear Families,

Miss Feeney's first grade students echo my sentiments exactly -- thank you for all you do for St. John School!  You embody the Fair Share spirit in all the ways you give.

We end the 2012/2013 school year with successes, opportunities for learning, and a sense of gratitude for the blessings God has given us.  We say farewell to Megan Katsandres, Miss Feeney's teaching assistant.  Miss Katsandres, a St. John graduate herself, heads off to complete her education toward a teaching certificate.  We say hello to Marcey Flood and Lisa McKenny, both of whom are joining our Preschool Department as teaching assistants in the Fall.

Additional changes to look forward to in the new school year:  Fall Jog-A-Thon replaces the Magazine Sale; Dennis Uniform becomes the new vendor for all logo uniform pieces.  Watch for your summer packet email for additional information on these changes.

The faculty and staff wish you and your family a fun filled, safe, and joyful summer holiday.  Remember to encourage the children to keep reading!

Beannacht,

Dahlgren FROM THE PLAYGROUND

Once again it's time to thank a group of intrepid volunteers who have braved the elements, monitored bouncy children confined to classrooms for inside recess, shown care for scraped knees and elbows, compassion for bruised egos, and helped your children problem-solve troubled friendships, rules of the game, negotiate fairly and all things in between.

Please add your thanks to mine for a year of service to - Rita Annen, Lisa Boucher, Sarah Christiansen, Rachel Douglas, Eva and Mike Fletcher, Katie Franklin, Cami Grandinetti, Venetia Halsey, Marilyn Hanley, Ida Henricksen, Laurie Herzog, Kim James, Maggie Kineman, Kelly Kennedy, Christine Lewis, Shannon Manley, Ann Martin, Glorilyn Maw, Geeta McCormack, Heather McMullen, Kim Miller, Lynette Muenzberg, Erin Murphy, Paula Pessner, Milana Richardson, Roland Russnak, Leslie Sacha, Ana Santos, Karen Schuler, Nelle Steele, Kevin Sylvester, and Elizabeth VanSteertegem.

And to all who are reading this, please consider volunteering for playground duty beginning September 2013. This is a very rewarding ministry you can give to the children and our school. You can reach me at floribunda51@yahoo.com or 206.782.4823 for more information.

MY HAT IS OFF TO YOU ALL!!!!!!!

Summer Scrip
SCRIP!
When it's time to think about uniform shopping please think about getting scrip cards for Gap, Old Navy, LandsEnd and Dennis Uniform.  These are high rebate vendors who give back an average of 18% to the school.  You can order online at www.shopwithscrip.com and have the card emailed to you within 10 minutes.  I use it all the time and would be happy to walk you through the steps.

Please turn in your pink envelopes so we can change the grade and teacher for next year!

Do you have 4 hours per week to work with a great team and contribute to a vital part of St. John School Fundraising?  Working on the Scrip team is right up your alley.  Please email scrip@stjohnsea.org to find out how you can be part of this exciting and important group.  Lisa Mendenhall will be happy to meet with you and explain the ins and out of the program and find your niche.

Don't forget, Scrip is here for you over the summer months.  See us at Coffee & Donuts each Sunday, or email or phone us and we will arrange for you to receive your Scrip.

Have a great summer everyone.
