Message From the Principal
Dear Families,
On Monday, at prayer, the students heard how we are walking with Jesus through these last days of Lent. We recalled the events of Holy Week, beginning with Jesus' arrival in Jerusalem, the preparations for Passover, the Last Supper, the prayer in the Garden of Gethsemane, the weight of the Cross, His death and His burial. This is the holiest week of the liturgical calendar. We accompany Jesus as He suffers through the injustices and we pray that we will be able to honor His sacrifice. We pray that we can be alert to His message. As we listen to Jesus' very lonely moments of deep despair in the Garden of Gethsemane, will we try harder to heed His call, so that His death is not in vain. Then as we celebrate the glory of His resurrection on Easter Sunday morning, we are with Him, rejoicing, committed to carrying on His work on earth.
Fr. Crispin, the liturgy team and the parish administrators have prepared meaningful and renewing liturgies for the Triduum. The schedule is on the website. The seventh grade will lead us in the Shadow Stations tomorrow beginning at 2pm in the Church. Schola and Cantionis members will sing with the choir at 10:30 Mass for Easter. Let us commit to prayer and service this weekend and for always.
May you experience a glorious Easter!

 Easter Sunday Mass
This year we invite all children to attend the Children's Easter Liturgy at 10:30am on Easter morning. As the children enter the church on this joyous morning students from St. John School will give each child a paper cross. We will ask that the children write a special and personal thank you note to Jesus on their crosses, thanking Him for the gift of life and for showing us how to live a life of love. Then they will be asked to raise their crosses for a Sprinkling Rite. Finally all the crosses will be collected at the offertory and presented to Christ on the altar. Please help your children think about the many ways in which they are grateful for Christ's Easter sacrifice.

SCRIP
|
|
Only one more day left for Scrip March Madness. Scrip will be sold before and after school in the east hallway in front of XDC. Send in your order tonight and the team will have it ready for you to pick up. Simply send an email to scrip@stjohnsea.org, no need to fill out an order form. We've had a lot of movement in the Scrip March Madness Contest. A third grade student in Mrs. Kelly's class ordered two different 20 pointers this week bringing her up to 2nd place. A student in Miss Lovejoy's class took the order form to a family member's office and had the staff place orders for her class. It's so great to see.
The school as a whole has sold $138,348.75!! If we sell $140,000 the entire school will win a free dress day - we are so close.
Thanks for being so supportive of the program. We've earned $7,400 for the school this month alone.
Please let us know if we can deliver anything to you this Friday! Happy Easter!
