"And the multitudes that went before, and that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna to the son of David: Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest." Matthew 21:9
Message From the Principal
Dear Families, Next week is Holy Week, when the Church calls upon her people scattered throughout the world to come together to watch and pray with Jesus. On Monday morning the students will lead us into these holiest of days as they pray and sing Sacred Silence under the direction of Pat Tsagalakis. | Click to listen |
Sacred silence, holy ocean gentle water, washing over me. Help me listen, Holy Spirit, come and speak to me. God my Father, Christ my brother, Holy Spirit, sanctifying me. Lord, I'm sorry, please forgive me, come and set me free. Sacred silence, holy ocean, gentle water, washing over me. Help me listen, Holy Spirit, come and speak to me. Holy Mary, gentle mother, God's pure vessel, praying for me. Saints and angels, all in heaven, come and be with me. You are welcome to join us for these brief moments during which we slow down the 'busyness' of our days and listen to the word of God. We will have the Shadow Stations on Friday at 2pm. The kindergarteners and first graders were delighted to have their grandparents and special friends here today. So were we!
Blessings, Bernadette O'Leary Principal |
 Easter Sunday Mass
This year we invite all children to attend the Children's Easter Liturgy at 10:30 am on Easter morning. As the children enter the church on this joyous morning students from St. John School will give each child a paper cross. We will ask that the children write a special and personal thank you note to Jesus on their crosses, thanking Him for the gift of life and for showing us how to live a life of love. Then they will be asked to raise their crosses for a Sprinkling Rite. Finally all the crosses will be collected at the offertory and presented to Christ on the altar. Please help your children think about the many ways in which they are grateful for Christ's Easter sacrifice.

Mrs. Hendrickson's Grade Two to Participate in BBHS Production
On April 26-28, the award winning Bishop Blanchet drama program will present the spring musical,
Children of Eden. More than 135 BBHS students make up the cast and crew. Unique this year is Bishop Blanchet's collaboration with five Catholic elementary schools to add an additional 80 student actors to the ensemble. The participating schools are Assumption-St. Bridget School, St. Anne School, St. John School, St. Joseph School and St. Therese Catholic Academy. Children of Eden, from Stephen Schwartz and John Caird, is freely based on the story of Genesis and is a joyous and inspirational musical about parents, children and faith. The show ultimately delivers a bittersweet but inspiring message: that "the hardest part of love... is letting go." Tickets went on sale through http://www.stgpresents.org/ on March 20, 2013.
