 Both branches will close at 4pm on Wednesday, November 27th & will be closed all day on Thursday, November 28th & Friday, November 29th.  We will re-open with normal hours on Saturday, November 30th.

Veterans Day Special Events 

In honor of the brave men and women of our community who served in the armed forces, we will be having some special programs on Veterans Day (Monday, November 11th).

At noon at Laura's, come learn about The History of Flags taught by a member of the National Sojourners.  There are also two chances to Bring Your Veteran to Storytime: at Westbank, 10:30am (during Infant Storytime) & at Laura's, 12:30pm (during Preschool Storytime). 

And a big thank you from Westbank Libraries for your service!  

SALE SALE SALE!!

Our annual tradition of selling half price cookbooks for the holidays continues!  Monday, November 18th through Saturday, November 30th come to Westbank & visit our used book room to find yourself the perfect cookbook for holiday entertaining - at half price!

And the sales don't stop there...

• starting Wednesday, December 11th: DVDs for $2!
• starting Wednesday, December 18th: travel guides & audiobooks for $2!

Don't forget, all sales are at the Westbank branch.  Sales will continue while supplies last; all sales final.  Proceeds benefit the library. 

Got a teen at home? 

Our newsletter for adults & for young children are very popular with our community, but did you know we also have a teen newsletter?  If you have a little one who is no longer so little, you might want to update your library newsletter subscriptions to include the Teen Scene.

The Teen Scene only comes out occasionally - when we have teen programs on the horizon, like free SAT practice tests, college planning workshops, & volunteer opportunities. 

Crafting gifts for the holidays? 

If you're someone who likes to give handmade gifts for the holidays, you might be surprised to learn that you have access to an entire database of free craft resources & instructions by using your library card.

If you'd like to give it a try, go to westbanklibrary.com & click LOGIN at the top of the page.  After you log into your library account, click on the icon that says TexShare Databases.  A new window or tab will open with a TON of online resources you can use any time, but you're looking for the Hobbies & Crafts Reference Center.
