In recovery? Let's celebrate!

From the pastor:
There's a movie playing in town just now: "Home Run." It's the story of an alcoholic baseball player who finds sobriety through the Christ-based Celebrate Recovery so popular in many of our churches.
While the movie is predictable, it does give a good view of the wide variety of problems that can weigh our lives down.
When our rehab counselor, David Gay, and I were trying to get recovery groups into Triune seven years ago, we were lucky to find some incredible folks from Narcotics Anonymous and Alcoholics Anonymous. Those groups are doing -- and will continue to do -- great work here. Between them, they offer 12 meetings every week.
In September, we plan to add Celebrate Recovery to our offerings.
Celebrate Recovery began 20 years ago at Saddleback Community Church in California and is now used in over 19,000 churches worldwide to address the "hurts, habits, and hang-ups" that have become life-dominating issues for many. Those issues include substance abuse, co-dependency, anger, depression, domestic abuse, pornography/sexual impurity, gambling, overeating -- anything that has gained control over one's life.
In order to be ready for a September launch, we will begin our leadership training Monday, May 6, 7:30-8:30 PM. If you are interested in participating as a leader and are willing to commit to weekly leadership training over the summer, please contact Carl Smith at quikcarl1@yahoo.com or 864-230-7440.
We think this Celebrate Recovery meeting will be the only one in the downtown Greenville area. Thus, we welcome leaders from our nearby sister churches.
Blessings,
Deb Richardson-Moore

Worship with us at Triune Chapel:
For four Sundays in May and June, we will have different voices in our pulpit as Deb takes vacation and swaps pulpits with pastors who want to learn more about Triune. We are excited to hear God's message through these new voices.
May 5, 11 AM -- Dr. Tom LeGrand, pastor of Augusta Heights Baptist Church, will bring our message, "The Dumbest Question Jesus Ever Asked." Denise Smith, soloist, and the Voices of Mercy will sing, and we will observe communion.
6 PM -- Robbie Boman will lead a service on "More on Fasting Prayers."
May 12, Mother's Day, 11 AM -- Deb will preach on "Mat carriers," and the Voices of Mercy will sing.
6 PM -- Rev. Jerry Hill will speak.
May 19, 11 AM -- Kathy Sharp, our volunteer coordinator, will bring our Pentecost message.
