Rally Day September 11th

We are down to the final week of for our Silent Auction for Rally Day on September 11.  I hope you have taken time to find a few things to share with us.
We ask that you please bring your item or items to the church on Saturday, September 10,  between the hours of 10 - 12 so we can register them for the Silent Auction.  A sheet will be available for you to complete for each item you bring. Remember items must be in excellent condition and that you will determine the starting bid price for the item. If you are providing a service to be auctioned, please note that as well, so we can include that along with the items.
Thank you in advance for your participation and help.  Please contact me if you have any questions.

Pastoral Caregiving

Steven Spidell, D.Min., B.C.C., Director, Spiritual Care and Values Integration of Houston Methodist San Jacinto Hospital, Baytown, will present Pastoral Caregiving-- Beyond the Traumatic Experience: Innovative Practices to Support Recovery.

Spiritual care providers are often the first persons notified when there is a serious or life threatening event in someone's life. Such events are often the cause of a traumatic reaction. Trauma is a person's physical, emotional, and spiritual response to a perceived threat. Being knowledgeable about what we can offer at such times is essential for informed caregiving.

This workshop will address the nature of trauma, reactions, and appropriate interventions.

SAVE THE DATE: Saturday, September 17; 9:00 AM; Fellowship Hall at Faith
(8:30 a.m. light breakfast provided)

Ping Pong Anyone? September 25th

Mike Wilson issued a challenge to the Christian Education Committee to help hold a
Ping Pong Tournament. The Committee has taken up the challenge and would like to see how much interest there is in holding one on Sunday afternoon, September 25. We think it would be a great Fellowship Activity for all ages and could possibly be one that might draw people from our Community to come and visit our church. We will advertise it along with our Silent Auction for our Rally Day on September 11th. It will be my last day before my Knee Replacement surgery, so if I blow out my knee in the tournament I can get a new one the next day. If you are interested tell me or Mike Wilson or email me at
jimgill@baytownpres.org. We have a Ping Pong Table in our youth room if you want to find a partner and start practicing now.
