Jim's Article - "Love em all"

Rev Dr Jim Gill
Recently I have seen cars circling through our church parking lot and then driving off. I've seen several a day. I can only conclude that they must be playing Pokemon Go.
I've seen clusters of teen agers walking the streets of my neighborhood glued to their cell phones trying to "catch 'em all."
Last Friday, when I was going to see John Higginbotham in the Kindred Hospital in Tomball I passed a church that had on its marquee "Pokemon and Jesus Found Inside."  Read More

It's already time to prepare for the back to school season. Please notice that there is a box located at the entrance to our church with information about Operation Backpack, the annual YMCA drive to collect school supplies and backpacks for the kids in our Baytown schools. Yearly, our local drive has resulted in 1000-1200 backpacks and supplies being distributed. The drive is currently underway and will end about August 12th. Thanks you for your generosity in the past and the future.

The Middle of the Pews
Dear Friends,
We are all familiar with term, "middle of the road." I'm concerned about the "middle of the pews."
I'm writing to ask a favor. Dress warmly for church. I'm told that the reason that so many of you sit on the outside of the pews is that it's too cold in the middle. At Session meeting on Monday someone said that it's easier to dress warmly and take a coat off than to discover you are cold and have to move.   If that's the case, please wear a coat you can take off if you are warm and please sit towards the center of the pews.   The Video camera sees more empty seats than filled. We are trying to figure out how to post our services online but I'm reluctant to do so to broadcast what looks like and empty sanctuary.  Read More
